How to build a Shed : Part 1

The existing Shed at Jones Street is currently an open canvas sitting in a solid frame, a frame built - literally, by the founding members of The Stirling Adriatic Center.
The shed is currently home to several Bocce lanes which will be replaced with a flat concrete floor, the existing mezzannie which currently acts as a viewing gallery will be expanded to cover a much larger area and will house different projects to the ground floor. We are currently in the early design stages and initial renderings are shown above, you can click on the images above to enlarge them.

Flexibility is an integral consideration in the early design work, the Shed is going to house a wide range of activites and it is intented to design the internal layout in a manner that can and will adapt to future needs and activities and will of course be designed from the ground up, to be accessible to all.

Some of the fixtures will be permanent such as the Spray booth and some of the heavier equipment which might require dust/fume extraction but otherwise it is envisioned that the internal framework be created in such a manner that it can be reconfigured to accomodate new and changing activities to match the evolving needs of the community.

If you wish to follow this project and recieve updates on our story please drop us a line at jscs@cosra.com.au and we will add you to our mailing list.

This project is by the community - for the community ...you are the community, and if you find yourself or your business with a few tonnes of concrete that you do not know what to do with.. or spare equipment or fixtures and fittings, have specialist skills that you think may help move this project forward or some time to spare, please contact us jscs@cosra.com.au we would love to hear from you.
